The Neem plant has been used by the people of India for centuries and is just beginning to make its way into American made beauty products. What is so special about the Neem plant? It has anti-fungal properties, anti-viral effects and its ability to accelerate healing make it well sought after in the beauty industry.
Put this into a fantastic skincare product and you have JustNeem Clay Mask.
I was so excited to try this mask. I have heard about the Neem plant and its abilities, so when this ended up in my hands, it was just minutes before I had washed my face and slathered it on. The texture is similar to Cool-Whip, very fluffy and light. You do not need to use a lot, it spreads well and as soon as it touches your skin, you feel a cool tingle. After about 5 minutes, it starts to warm up and feel slightly tight; this just let’s you know it’s working. Instructions say to wash off after 10- 15 minutes, but I left it on longer because it felt so soothing. The smell is fantastic, it smells like the fragrant halls of a high end spa.
The outcome? My skin was instantly brighter and softer. Also, all the pesky dirt that had been occupying my pores was actually sitting on top of them (yuck)! I followed my mask with a light scrub of my facial loofah and my skin was like a baby’s bottom! Not only did I find it to be effective, but also very relaxing and invigorating.
I am a huge advocate for the importance of weekly, or bi-weekly, masks and this is definitely one I will be using regularly. I look forward to trying Just Neem‘s other products including their Acne Line that will arrive in Summer 2012.
You can purchase JustNeem’s Clay Mask on Earth Day 2012 (April 22nd) at www.justneem.com for $24.95.
