What We’re Loving: Pureology Precious Oil

12.7.12

As a blogger, I get to try a lot of new products. Some of them are great and some not so great. The ones I like, you’ll see on the site. If I don’t like it or it didn’t work for me, it doesn’t make it to A Beauty Loft.

For a product to take the place of a product I’ve been using for years, it has to be better than good. Enter Pureology’s Precious Oil. I already love Pureology and have been using their shampoo and conditioner for years (who doesn’t love that fresh scent and tingle- in-a-good-way feeling on your scalp?) so I was excited to try their new Precious Oil.

What is it? It’s Pureology’s the first Green Seal- certified 100% Biodegradable, silicone and paraben-free, versatile caring oil. In other words, it’s a high performing hair oil that adds incredible shine and softness to your hair–literally my hair feels like silk and helps prevent color fading. And it’s good for the environment, too!

Ingredients:

  • Sunflower Seed Oil for softness
  • Coconut Oil for elasticity
  • Olive Oil for shine
  • Jojoba Seed Oil for moisture
  • OleoAntiFadeComplex evenly recharges the hair fiber, fortifies the cuticle, restores the lipid barrier and magnifies shine of lifeless colour-treated hair.

Who would like it? Anyone that swears by Moroccan Oil, Aragan oil, or shine serums. Precious Oil is light weight, but packs a punch. For my thick hair I only use 3 pumps. You get the shine of a silicone based serum and the softness  of Moroccan Oil in one.

Who it may not work for? I don’t know. I would think all hair types. My beauty blogging buddy Jennifer said it didn’t work for her hair, which is finer than mine. Jen–if you’re reading give it another shot..it can help extend that gorgeous red hair color of yours!

How I use it: I apply on damp hair and use 3 or 4 pumps (depending on how many sections I divide my hair), concentrating half way down my hair and my ends. Then I usually blow it out. I also use it before applying mousse to my hair when I wear it naturally curly.

Where to buy: Any retail store that sells Pureology. I found it in Ulta (in store only) for $12.00 for 1.0 oz travel size and $40.00 for a full sized 4.2 oz.

Full Disclosure: The products in this post were provided by the manufacturer for consideration. For more information on my disclosure policy, please see my disclaimer page.
