As someone who loves beauty products, there are certain items that I think are worth the splurge and others that I believe you should save your $ on. For instance, a good foundation is worth every penny. But drugstore mascara to me is just as good as higher end department store mascaras.
The same philosophy applies to hair care. I use Pureology pretty religiously for a sulfate free shampoo and conditioner. It’s a great system that really works for my hair, but it isn’t the cheapest. L’Oreal’s new OleoTherapy caught my eye in my local CVS this past weekend. Oleo Therapy is L’Oreal’s first oil therapy line that infuses 6 different types of flower oils, making it perfect for dry, damaged, or dull hair (and curly hair!).
My initial thought was that it’s a lower end version of Kerastase Oleo Relax line (L’Oreal’s high end hair care line–shampoo is around $39). The packaging and name look so similar, I had to give it a try. And at around$7 per product, it was wallet friendly enough for me that I picked up the shampoo, conditioner, and Deep Recovery Mask.
I tried out the shampoo and mask this weekend and love it! It left my hair shiny, silky, and soft, but without weighing it down. And as the case with some sulfate-free shampoos, I wasn’t missing out on any.
Does this mean I will abandon my Pureology? Not at all. But it’s nice to have a good alternative if I’m low on cash and just want to switch up products for a bit!
