This week was vacation week mixed with a little bit of play and work. I stopped by NYC to celebrate my sister’s birthday at Gyku-Kaku Japanese BBQ (first time having it and loved it). Afterwards, I swung by InStyle magazine’s SummerSocial to check out the latest in beauty in fashion.
In my career as a beauty blogger, this was definitely my Carrie Bradshaw moment. Me, the 30-something beauty writer and blogger, at a top-tier publication’s event with the most influential voices in social media in the realm of fashion and beauty. The venue was beautiful, the music was great, and some of my favorite vendors were in attendance, showcasing their latest products.
The best part was the nostalgic reminder of my early 20s–the Thierry Mugler’s both. While their top selling scent, ANGEL was debuted in 1992, the scent easily became a cult classic, lasting long into my college days at Seton Hall. Tuesday night trips into the NYC with my girls always began with us getting ready for the night together. The feminine, spicy, and flirty scent usually lingered in the dorm bathroom long after we were gone.
Fast forward to 2015. ANGEL is being re-introduced with a new dynamic bottle. The new design is a gorgeous three-dimensional star that looks beautiful on any vanity.
