We are in full swing Spring and Summer is quickly approaching. What better way to celebrate then with a bright pink lip? I have compiled some of my favorite ‘shock-you-pink’ products that are sure to convince you to leave behind your black polish and deep red lips!
1. Make Up For Ever Rouge Intense Lip Color in #36. This color is an intense, matte fuchsia. The thing I love about Make Up For Ever’s lip colors is that they last a very long time. I love to wear this shade with only mascara, it is the perfect contrast to the bright lip color. It’s bright! (Suggested retail: $19 at Sephora.com)
2. Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet Lip Colour in L’Exuberante. There is just something about pulling out the Chanel Lipstick that makes me feel luxurious and put together. This is a muted shade of bubblegum pink and is much more wearable for the work environment then bright fuchsia. (Suggested retail: $32.50 at Bloomingdales.com)
3. Tom Ford Beauty Lip Color in Flamingo. This pink has a somewhat orange undertone and is an incredibly pungent color. This color will work really well for those with olive undertones, but is also really great for the blondes and brunettes with porcelain skin (a la Kristen Ritter or Michelle Williams). This is a powerful pink that pulls away from the bubblegum and hot pink spectrum enough to make it wearable for work. (Suggested retail: $48 at Bergdorfgoodman.com)
4.Urban Decay Super-Saturated High Gloss Lip Color in Crush. I walked into Sephora one day and saw a girl wearing this lipstick and absolutely had to have it. This color is simply described as: neon hot pink. So bright and so fun, but must be worn with a finished face. This is not the color you throw on when running out the door in the morning to add some color to you face. This is the color you put on for your birthday dinner or for brunch with your girlfriends. Amazing, saturated, fun and so so pink! (Suggested retail: $19 at Sephora.com)
5. Illamasqua Intense Lipgloss in Indulge. If you are a bit apprehensive to leave the house wearing an intense pink on you lips, but are still wanting to try the hot pink trend this season, try a lipgloss. This gloss is thick and pigmented enough to give your lips a hot pink tint, but is easily the most wearable of this bunch. (Suggested retail: $20 at Sephora.com)
Pink lips are the prefect way to freshen up your look this spring and I hope you have found my recommendations helpful. Now get out in the sun (wear sunscreen!), enjoy yourself and rock your hot pink lips!
Happy Spring Beauties!
