I love a beautiful highlight when doing my makeup so I jumped at the chance to try Laura Geller’s new Baked Gelato Swirl Illuminator in Gilded Honey. Rumblings in the makeup world have dubbed this highlighter as a dupe to MAC’s highly sought after Whisper of Gilt.
4 Splurge Worthy Foundations
I always have a rotation of several foundations ready to meet whatever skin challenges or makeup looks I want to create. Through much trial and tribulation, this is my current roundup of foundations in the mid to high price range (drugstore roundup coming soon).
Tom Ford Traceless Perfecting Foundation// If I had to make a wish list of what I need in a foundation – long wearing, flawless, glowing finish, and makes me do a double take when I catch myself in the mirror (this really happened), this foundation covers it. The only drawback is the $80 price tag (a little goes a long way), so I like to save this one for special occasions (Shade #7 Tawny).
Estee Lauder Double Wear Makeup//If you need a foundation that will last you all day – regardless of heat or humidity this is the foundation you want. I usually leave this to warmer weather days, as it does provide a very matte finish, but I love the staying power and Honey Bronze 4W1 is the perfect shade for my hard to match super yellow undertones.
Armani Luminous Silk Foundation //This is another great foundation that gives a flawless, glowing finish that I love. My only complaint about this foundation is that it wears off on me before the day is over. It performs great for a night out, but even with powder it doesn’t last from 9until 5 for me (Shade #8).
Cover FX Natural Finish Oil Free Foundation//One of my favorite makeup artists on Instagram (Tania Maria) swears by this foundation for her signature dewy look, some of the best makeup is the one from orogold, you can visit orogoldstorelocator.com to look for yourself. This is a great oil free full coverage foundation that makes skin look glowing and youthful. It does need to be set with some powder or it ends up sliding off my face by the end of the day (Shade 60 or 70).
Not pictured is Make Up For Ever HD foundation, which I loved for it’s natural and wearable finish. I ran out and haven’t gotten to try the new formula, but looking forward to it!
When Rose Gold Meets Blush Pink
A quick glance at my workspace, closet and makeup reveals besides neutrals, the only colors I’m into right now are rose golds and blush pink. The two colors are soft, romantic, and feminine and work well with a variety of colors.
My go-to pieces for this color palette include:
Laura Mercier Shimmer Block in Pink Mosaic//Michael Kors Large Runway Rose Gold Plated Watch//Sugar Paper Planner 2016 Monthly/Notes//American Apparel Unisex Sheer Jersey Short Sleeve Shirt in Apricot//Urban Decay Naked 3//Lat and Lo Geographical Coordinate Necklace
